Game of Thrones Season 4 Premiere

Game of Thrones S4 PremiereFollowing on from my last post on Being a BAFTA Judge, one of the bonuses of being in BAFTA is occasionally we get to attend premieres!

And one of the most exciting ones this year so far has been the Game of Thrones Season 4 premiere.  Sky clearly thought about how to make it amazing.  They held the premiere at Guildhall in London. Guildhall has been the City’s powerhouse since the 12th century.

On the front of the building was projected a Game of Thrones promo video.  And it was a black, not red, carpet that led the guests into the hall.

Feeling more like a church service than a screening, the special guests and cast were treated to the screening of the season 4 premiere.

This was followed by a Q&A with three of the cast who made a real effort to reveal nothing too telling about the upcoming season.

The after party was held in the vaults underneath.  The highlight was getting a picture taken on the Game of Thrones throne.  I’ve been told it suits me.

Sky had professional photographers.  Once taken the images were then viewable on tablets. A selected photo could then be uploaded to my twitter feed and sent to me via email. Clever and a heck of a lot of fun!

Sky also released Seasons 1-3 on demand on NOW TV prior to the start of Season 4.  A great way to entice non-Sky viewers and give everyone who hasn’t seen it a legal chance to catch up.
